As an Institute of Printing Technology, Don Bosco IGACT had a modest beginning. The centre has grown on a slow but steady pace, for the past 20 years. It is a saga of courage and faith, of adventure and accomplishments. Every device and every instrument, every gadget and every machine speaks of the sweat and the toil, the love and the dedication of many a gallant soul.

Its classrooms, every desk and every chair is a silent witness of the aspirations and the anxieties, the hopes and the dreams of youngsters eager to master a trade and earn a living. The laughter and the tears, the whispers and the screams, the frolic and the rollick of fun loving youngsters hallow its corridors and the playgrounds.

Computer Lab

Don Bosco IGACT has a state-of-the-art computer lab with 60 computers at students’ disposal, offering practical sessions for students especially those doing Graphic Design and Web Development Courses. Reference to the websites enhances enriches the knowledge of students. Additional computers with high speed broadband connectivity. The professionally competent faculty provides all requisite preliminary training and advanced practice during the scheduled class hours in the computer lab as well as in the class room under their guidance and supervision.

Classroom

Our classrooms are spacious, well-light and student friendly. They are equipped with the latest IT infrastructure such as LCD projectors, screens and speakers that meet international standards. Seating arrangement is designed to ensure that the student is comfortable. The classrooms have ample space for the teacher and the students to move around. Every classroom is provided with a white board for writing purposes.

Library

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. Don Bosco IGACT has an excellent library with a good collection of books. The library is equipped with a variety of books on a wide range of subjects, which indeed makes it a reader’s paradise. The institute library is a great support for the students and teachers by providing access to current, adequate and appropriate information resources. It is also to ensure that all the students, teachers and staff are effectively using the ideas and information. Institute encourages the habit of reading and development of student’s independent learning skills.

Workshop

Our students are privileged to have a direct training experience in our well equipped multi-colour offset printing press which offers the complete spectrum of offset printing services including prepress, press and post-press facilities. The Prepress department has well-furnished atmosphere, high speed computers, Scanners, Plate setters, CTP, Digital processing centers to speed up the workflow. IGACT has several offset printing machines with Four color Printing, Two color Printing and Single color Printing facilities. Our Post press department has a number of automated advanced machineries that range from guillotines, binding machines, lamination machines, stitching machines, pinning machines, packing machines.

Playground

A healthy mind resides in a healthy body which comes to us through games and sports. For this, games and sports form an integral part of our institute curriculum. At Don Bosco IGACT, playground is considered as an outside class room where the true learning takes place. The institute takes care of Physical Intelligence Quotient (PQ) of students, offering opportunities for students to have regular games. Institute has playground for football, basketball, volleyball, and cricket. Students are also encouraged to spent their leisure times with various indoor games which include caroms, chess, Darts, and Draught Chinese checkers.

Chapel

The soul of any Don Bosco institutes lies in the chapel. Thus the Chapel and the statue of our Bl. Mother, Help of Christians located right at the entrance of the institute is a source of strength and protection for all who come into our campus. The prayerful atmosphere of the church is indeed very inspiring. Every first Friday the students are given the opportunity to attend the Holy Mass and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The statue of Our Lady located at the entrance of the chapel is a favorite place for quick prayer for faculty, students and the public. The prayer request letters that are deposited in the box are burnt in prayer on every 24th of the month.

Auditorium

Don Bosco IGACT has a very spacious auditorium with centralized A/C. This is used for various purposes such as Onam, Christmas Celebrations, IGACT Day and College Programmes. Over 800 persons can have comfortably seated in the auditorium. Students of respective batches with the proper guidance of the staff in charge do take lead in decorating, arranging the backdrops, stage and the auditorium. This gives them an amazing experience of working together as a team for a common event. The creativity and the innovative ideas of the students create a festive vibes in the campus whenever programs are organized.

Hostels

Don Bosco IGACT does not have a hostel of its own. The students from faraway places are provided with hostel facilities in different hostels run by private owners of the place. Normally the girls are provided with accommodation in convent hostels run by religious sisters nearby. The boys are accommodated in hostels run by local private agents. However we ensure complete safety through constant supervision and monitoring of our students, be it their academics or other activities. We have prescribed schedule which is adhered in order to bring about discipline and to create good habits for a lifetime.
