Web design is a design field concerned with designing web pages, websites and web applications. Web Designing is the process by which web designer make visitors able to access the web pages at one platform with several images, texts, links, graphics etc. Web design is used as a general term to describe any of the various tasks involved in creating a web page. More specifically, it refers to jobs focused on building the front-end of a web page. Web designing has now become one of the most popular ways of creating attractive web sites as it can give the most appealing layout to any web site thereby adding to its popularity.

To create a website is like creating a master piece of art that has all the aesthetics, attractive appeal along with the commercial viability. The role of a web designer is very much important in website development as designing makes the web pages more attracting and user friendly. The look and feel of a website makes quite an impact on the viewers. Accessibility is just as important as data. Web designing is also considered to be a form of art where the website designers try to make the websites more visually appealing as well as make the navigation through the website i.e how a visitor get around from one page to another on a Web site, a hassle free task.

1. FUNDAMENTALS OF COMPUTER

Computer is an advanced electronic device that takes raw data as input from the user and processes it under the control of set of instructions (called program), gives the result (output), and saves it for the future use. This topic introduces computer systems and provides a foundation for the other topics.

2.NETWORKS AND PROTOCOLS

Network Protocol is a set of rules that governs the communications between computers on a network. A network protocol defines rules and conventions for communication between network devices. Network protocols include mechanisms for devices to identify and make connections with each other, as well as formatting rules that specify how data is packaged into messages sent and received.

3.HISTORY AND STRUCTURE OF INTERNET

The Internet, also known as the “Net” is an international system where computers are linked together in a network that permits different data communication servers to operate. These include e-mail, the World Wide Web, newsgroups and FTP. In general the Internet is a means of publishing information about anything and everything. It can be said that the Internet has revolutionised the world of communications.

4. WEB PROGRAMMING BASICS

An introduction to the basics of web design and the various aspects of web design. Web design is the creation of Web pages and sites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other Web languages. Web design is just like design in general: it is the combination of lines, shapes, texture, and color to create an aesthetically pleasing or striking look. Web design is the work of creating design for Web pages.

5.HTML PROGRAMMING

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. This is the basic format for the scripting language that is used to construct the Web. A web browser can read HTML files and compose them into visible or audible web pages. The browser does not display the HTML tags, but uses them to interpret the content of the page. HTML describes the structure of a website semantically along with cues for presentation, making it a markup language rather than a programming language.

1.TYPOGRAPHY

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language most appealing to learning and recognition. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning).

2.COLOUR THEORY

In the visual arts, color theory is a body of practical guidance to color mixing and the visual effects of a specific color combination. There are also different categories of colors based on the color wheel: primary color, secondary color and tertiary color.

3.DESIGN PRINCIPLES AND TOOLS

The principles of design suggest how a designer can best arrange the various components of a page layout in connection to the overall design and to each other. Generally, all the principles of design, also known as principles of composition, apply to any piece you may create. How you apply those principles determines how effective your design is in conveying the desired message and how attractive it appears.

4.WORKING WITH WEB GRAPHICS

Web graphic designers use vector and raster graphics packages to create web-formatted imagery or design prototypes. Technologies used to create websites include standardised mark-up. The page layout and user interface may also be affected by the use of motion graphics. The choice of whether or not to use motion graphics may depend on the target market for the website.

5.PROJECT MANAGEMENT THEORY

Project management is the process and activity of planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling resources, procedures and protocols to achieve specific goals in scientific or daily problems. A project is a temporary endeavor designed to produce a unique product, service or result with a defined beginning and end undertaken to meet unique goals and objectives, typically to bring about beneficial change or added value.

1.CASCADING STYLE SHEETS

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language used for describing the look and formatting of a document written in a markup language. While most often used to change the style of web pages and user interfaces written in HTML and XHTML, the language can be applied to any kind of XML document, including plain XML, SVG and XUL.

2.OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING

Object-oriented programming (OOP) is a programming paradigm that represents the concept of “objects” that have data fields (attributes that describe the object) and associated procedures known as methods. Objects, which are usually instances of classes, are used to interact with one another to design applications and computer programs.

3.SERVER SIDE SCRIPTING

Server-side scripting is a technique used in website design which involves embedding scripts in an HTML source code which results in a user’s (client’s) request to the server website being handled by a script running on the server-side before the server responds to the client’s request.

4.DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

A database management system (DBMS) is a computer program designed to manage a database, a large set of structured data, and run operations on the data requested by numerous users. Typical examples of DBMS use include accounting, human resourcesand customer support systems.

1.FRAME WORKS

A framework is a standardized set of concepts, practices and criteria for dealing with a common type of problem, which can be used as a reference to help us approach and resolve new problems of a similar nature. In the world of web design, a framework is defined as a package made up of a structure of files and folders of standardized code (HTML, CSS, JS documents etc.) which can be used to support the development of websites, as a basis to start building a site.

2.INTERFACING AND SERVER SIDE SCRIPT INTEGRATION

User interface design is the design of websites, computers, appliances, machines, mobile communication devices, and software applications with the focus on the user’s experience and interaction. The goal of user interface design is to make the user’s interaction as simple and efficient as possible, in terms of accomplishing user goals.

3.HOSTING AND CONTROL PANELS

A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server owned or leased for use by clients, as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. A control panel, in web hosting, is a web-based interface provided by the hosting company that allows customers to manage their various hosted services in a single place.

4.FINAL PROJECT WORK

After having completed the course, in the final project you will have the breadth of knowledge to be able to create your own websites and apps with the latest technology.
